19/03/2005 - “It comes in colors everywhere!”

Milk is now at version 3.0, the big change is that it now comes in four color variations - blue, pink, green and silver. I hope this is appreciated, I know a lot of people missed the grey version and I hope some will like the new colors as well.

I have also completed Milk themes for the Sony Ericsson K700, Z600, Z608, T610, T628, T630, T616. These are available at Ocean Observation’s mobile themes page!

This is the change log:
Milk 3.0: Blue | Pink | Green | Silver
- Added color variations! Milk now comes in blue, green, pink and silver colors.
- Changed the iTunes sidebar selection to use the themes color.
- Aligned the buttons at the bottom of the iTunes window (add playlist, equalizer, visualizer etc) with the AirTunes speaker button.
- Resized the VLC LCD so that the corners don’t look stretched.

There is still chocolate variations though, I just took it out of the preview. I thought the colors were more important.

We’ve got our Milk back, yeah baby! Sorry, powder blue fans I’m all about the no color with this theme.

I would love to see the best web browser, Camino, get the milk treatment in a future update.

Great work Max, but any chance that your company (or you) could port themes over for Mototrola brand phones? I see that Sony Ericsson and Nokia have tons of themes out there but I’m surprised that a lot of other phones get left out of the mix. Thanks, keep up the great work!

Great looking theme, as I’ve come to expect from you.

Milk is by far the best theme, ever. I run it on both my Mac at work and the VS translation for my Winbox at home, too.

And I love the new 3.0 versions, although I have to keep the old 2.2 as well for when I want those nice soft grey rounded menu effects (miss those in the new versions.)

I do have one tiny suggestion to make, maybe for a 3.1 update. What about putting a light colored background behind the progress bars to match the base color? Maybe even just in the non-chrome, non-chocolate version, to give a little bit of contrast?

Just my 2 cents on what I’d like to see…

I’m considering changing the Apple menu to match the colors, I’ll tinker with it.

The reason I only made themes for Sony Ericsson is because I’ve only found (Mac) software for it. Is there a Mac theme editor for Motorola and Nokia? If so I’ll give it a shot.

Will Milk 3.0 have a Windows port soon?

I don’t know if there will be any Windows port soon, I haven’t heard from any porters. I’m sure they will port it eventually.

I can’t downlaod Milk Safari says that it can’t open the page. Anyone?

For those of you who are having problems with the guiKit:// links not opening in ShapeShifter, you can manually control click the link and copy and paste it in your address field. Remove the “guiKit://” part at the beginning and then hit alt-enter to start downloading.
