Now when you can download a .pkg download (thanks Max!) it's not needed, though. I simply don't like the haxies because they are in my system (no they can't affect it, I know), and don't work with all apps like VISE installers and so + you have to install 2 prefPanes - that Ape prefPane and the ShapeShifter one and moreover it's for $15 when you can have it for free. I don't think changing a theme via ThemeChanger is dangerous - yes it replaces some files in system but I believe it is completely safe - and free.
