02/08/2005 - Maybe it’s time to update..

..SmoothStripes and Aqua Extreme.
But first I was just wondering if anyone would be upset if I replaced the flat menubar with the glossy one? I have to admit is has grown on me and it would be easiest to just replace the flat one instead of trying to make more variations.

Also, I’m sorry I can’t devote more time to the themes, I’ve just been so busy with my job. Now I’m actually on a 2 week semester, so I thought I might at least update these two themes.

i actually checked your site today for the first time in a few months hoping there was a glossy version. sunken buttons would be nice, too.

QNX needs updated for Tiger.

Nooooo!! Don’t make the menubar glossy please. Flat just looks better next to window menubars, especially the unified ones.

Sunken would be very righteous though.

To tell the truth I went into the SmoothStripes package version and changed the menubar to the Tiger gloss version for my system… So yeah, I’d say go with the gloss :-)

Glossy: Pretty, Pretty Please with Apples on top! I’m still using SmoothStripes 4.1.1 on my laptop and desktop. I always used to switch themes, and Brushed was my favorite, but fell in love with the glossy SmoothStripes. Thank you.

I’m gonna bring back the glossy menubar. This is not the same as the glossy variations in the previous versions though, the titlebar will still be flat.

Rhapsodized is on my todo list, but like I said, I don’t have that much time to work on it. I’ll see what I can do.

please. :)

P.S. I used to hate the gloss menubar. But it’s the direction Aqua’s menubar has gone, so it’s only logical that your theme go that way, I guess.

I love the Tiger’s glossy menu bar. I’d love the “sunken theme” instead to be back.
Looking forward for a “sunken theme” SmoothStripes

Please do the glossy version.
And please also keep the unified menubar (Mail, Preferences etc.) like it is the default in Tiger.

I’d also like if you kept the unified windows. It’s Tiger. It looks damn nice.

Let’s go with glossy and flat menubars both. Would that be too much to ask?

Max, please kindly update BBX Memory to Tiger before you quit this job.

I’ll change them to be glossy. Having both is too much to ask, would double the file size and the work.

The unified windows are disabled by ShapeShifter. To keep them, apply the theme through the package installer and disable SS.

Eric Tang - Who said anything about quitting? You are right about it being like a job though, and you could imagine how hard it is to try and work one fulltime job and maintain all these themes.

Yap, Max. You are right. But you are the best and I do believe you can handle it well. You are our theme life saver!

I’d really wish you’d get the sunken buttons back though, and i’d say i’m not the only one.
At the moment i’ve used an old theme of yours to mod the sunken buttons back in myself, but it’s nice if you’d bring them back non the less ^^;

I personally like all my Macs to look the same. I still have one of them running only Mac OS 9.2.2 and always will. I have two other Macs, one running 10.2.8 and the other running 10.3.9. I have other Macs not currently set-up. When I get around to installing 10.4, it won’t be until your theme can look the same on all of them.
