07/01/2006 - SmoothStripes 5.1 & Aqua Extreme 3.1

I had to fix some minor glitches in the previous releases and I went a little nuts and tried to hunt down all the old style metal buttons which resulted in a pretty big update with many many appskins. I’m afraid that I might more work to do after this tuesday, if they update the iLife package..

These are the changes:

SmoothStripes 5.1 & Aqua Extreme 3.1
• Added appskin with new the new style metal buttons for Font Book, Address Book, Calculator, iPhoto, iChat, iCal, QuickTime and VLC. These are included as optional installs for those of you who use the package installer.
• Bundled a desktop picture called “Aqua Refined” by Blue Rocket.
• Changed the corners of regular windows and the menubar caps to be less rounded to fix issues with shadows and for consistency.
• Changed the global metal buttons to use the style from iTunes 6.
• Changed slider tracks to be the same style as the volume slider in iTunes 6.
• Changed the size of the round button to better align with glyphs placed on it.
• Changed etched text to use less of a bevel, like in iTunes 6. Only affects the guikit versions.
• Fixed the dimmed title text in certain metal apps (only works in the guikit, the installer still has this problem and it is not fixable)
• Fixed issues with garbled resources in the iTunes skin.

You’ve come through for us again! I use SS 95% of the time and I’d be a very sad panda without it!

Is there any reason why menus are blue, even if I’m using the “graphite” theme?

Smoothstripes on 10.3 let me keep my grey menu selections…

Will the package versions of these work with 10.4.4?

Not working with iTunes 6.0.2. :(

Made my library disappear…

But why did you remove the straight corners. That was the best pat of the whole theme!
I know they are available in 4.6 but i can’t download it anymore.. :-(

Besides that smoothstripes rocks!

This is the best yet. However, after updating to 10.4.4 I had to reapply the installed (not the shapeshifter file). Strange.

When will there be a 10.4.4 update?

:)

Does the theme work with v10.4.4?

hello,

it seem that iTunes 6.0.2 doesn’t work if the SmoothStripes Theme is applied.

anyway…..

thank a lot for your job ;)

Hi Max,
I really like your Aqua Extreme Theme.
But there is one thing, that would make it perfect to me.
Have you ever thought about customizing the finder sidebar to give it an “iTunes6″ look without borders and smaller icons and font-sizes in the sidebar.

Thanks
olzen

Awesome job man….. keep up the good work
